All original aside from the resonant head, this drum is quite special and rare because it was made on Leap Day (February 29th) in 1968. The date stamp is absolutely clean and legible, and of the hundreds of 1960s Acrolites we’ve had in our shop, we’ve never had or heard of one made on a Leap Day. It is in excellent condition with original batter head and snare wires. It does have a few minor pictured scratches in the anodized aluminum finish. The only other complaint is 3 of the original Ludwig snare wires are slightly bent. Overall this is one amazing piece of Ludwig history worthy of any serious Ludwig collector’s arsenal!
